The Green Accountability Platform invites you to a webinar, “Enhancing transparency, inclusion and accountability in climate finance: lessons from the Green Accountability Platform”. The objective of this webinar is to launch two flagship publications produced through the platform: a case study booklet featuring nine case studies that illustrate diverse expressions of green accountability across varied national and local contexts, and a policy brief that identifies specific policy recommendations to ensure climate finance allocation is transparent, accountable and inclusive. In this webinar, civil society actors supported through the Platform will share their lessons, challenges and successes from implementing projects within their local contexts that demonstrate how community-rooted strategies can foster stronger oversight of climate legislation, improve the allocation of public expenditure toward climate initiatives, and deepen trust between governments and communities.

The Green Accountability Platform was launched by World Resources Institute (WRI), SouthSouthNorth (SSN) and the Huairou Commission, in collaboration with and supported by the World Bank’s Global Partnership for Social Accountability (GPSA), the predecessor of the Civil Society and Social Innovation Alliance (CIVIC). Between October 2024 and December 2025, the Platform provided strategic finance to 25 civil society organizations (CSOs) across Bangladesh, Senegal, Cameroon, Brazil and Mexico, as well as 5 grassroots movements, working on the frontlines of climate action to strengthen citizen participation, improve access to climate-relevant information, enhance oversight of climate finance and share strategies and tools for testing social accountability approaches for climate governance across various contexts.
